I have a variety of research interests, all involving various forms of optics and lasers. I have included in this section a description of some work I have done in the past few years. My current interests are in optical imaging of volume phase objects using Optical Diffraction Tomography. This can be used for characterization of photopolymers for integrated optics (as shown in these pages) as well as other optical materials and biological samples.

Opportunities for Students:
Students interested in doing research on these topcis should have taken Physics 110-111 in order to be able to get started. More advanced projects are available for upper level students who have taken courses in optics and electromagnetism. Student projects include involvement the design and implementation of the optical system as well as computer programming and data analysis. Smaller projects are available during the academic year as well as more in-depth projects for students interested in working in the lab over the summer.
